Several new Wyoming wildfires broke out over the weekend with continued dry and breezy weather.
Two fires are burning near the Wyoming-Colorado border as of Monday afternoon, while another was contained over the weekend.
One fire in the Brider-Teton National Forest reportedly injured two campers, who were taken to a burn center in Salt Lake City. Their condition is not known at this time.
Hunters and campers in the Medicine Bow National Forest area were evacuated Saturday.
According to BLM Wyoming, the Black Mountain Fire that burned 8 miles northeast of Thermopolis last week is now mostly contained. It burned approximately 2,500 acres.
A Red Flag Warning remains in place for much of Wyoming, include areas around Fremont County. Extreme caution while camping, controlled burns, or doing anything that could start a fire, is encouraged.
While Wyoming is still seeing wildfires, the smoke that’s been blanketing the area is primarily from two large northern Utah wildifres.
