The City of Lander has four opportunities for the community. The City of Lander City Council is seeking Ward 2 applications to fill the vacant seat and there are also opportunities available with the Housing Authority, Board of Appeals, and Semiquincentennial Committee.
Council member – Ward 2
A process in accordance with Title 12-5-2 has now begun to fill the Ward 2 councilmember seat vacated by Missy White upon her councilmember resignation as she moved into the role of Mayor. Applicants will be interviewed by council members for the position on April 15, 2025, during a City Council special work session. The council will vote to appoint an applicant to the Ward 2 vacancy by majority vote during a special regular City Council meeting on April 22, 2025.

Eligibility: Candidates for municipal office must be a registered voter and a resident of the municipality and the ward they seek to represent (W.S. 22-23-301), and will have resided in said ward for at least one (1) year (W.S. 22-23-103(b)).

Housing Authority Board Member
The Housing Authority oversees Pushroot Village Apartments, a 47-unit senior and disabled low-income housing complex, and explores affordable housing opportunities. Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at City Hall at 11:00 AM.
