Lifetime Fremont County resident and community advocate Shanell Stanley has announced her candidacy for Fremont County Commissioner, District 3.
Stanley spent her professional career working alongside students and families in Fremont County schools, helping young people overcome obstacles, find opportunities for success, and navigate difficult circumstances. Throughout her years of service, she became known as someone willing to listen, connect people with resources, and advocate for those who needed support.
“I’ve always believed that meaningful change starts with listening to people and understanding the challenges they face,” Stanley said. “For many years, I had the privilege of helping students and families work through difficult situations and find a path forward. Since retiring, I’ve been looking for another opportunity to serve our community in a meaningful way, and I believe this is that opportunity.”
Stanley said her decision to run comes from a desire to continue serving Fremont County residents as the county faces important decisions regarding growth, infrastructure, public services, and the overall well-being of local communities.
“Fremont County is filled with hardworking people who care deeply about where they live,” Stanley said. “As commissioner, I want to be a strong advocate for our communities, someone who listens carefully, asks questions, and works collaboratively to find practical solutions. My goal is to represent the people of District 3 with integrity, transparency, and a genuine commitment to public service.”
