Alex Brown was nominated as the Shoshoni High School student of the week by Amy Mason.
School Activities/Sports/Clubs: Volleyball Manager, Student Council President, Basketball and Volleyball Sports Official, NHS Member, FCA Member, FBLA Member, Peer Tutoring/Academic Support Mentor
Special Awards or Honors: Most Outstanding Student in Mathematics, Award of Excellence in Science, Award of Excellence in English, Central Wyoming College President’s List, Wyoming Coaches Association Academic Award, 1st Place in Regional Math Competition (10th and 12th grade), National Qualifier in Financial Math Objective Test (FBLA), Graduating from CWC with three associate’s degrees in Math, Science, and Stem, together with high school graduation.
My future plans after I graduate high school are to attend Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to pursue multiple degrees in the Integrated Business and Engineering honors program, with the option to further pursue a 4+1 Master’s degree opportunity in Financial Engineering post undergrad. While I do not know exactly where I would like my career to take off in the future, I have a major interest in Analytics and how that can be used in the business world. I also hope to continue pursuing my passion for officiating both Basketball and Volleyball.
In the past two years, I have found immense levels of joy and passion in two activities within school: Managing Volleyball and Sports Officiating. Due to the important role each of these has played in making me the person I am today, neither could be placed as my favorite.
