Each week, staff at Shoshoni High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Gabe Cornell was nominated as the Shoshoni High School student of the week by Macey Mortimore.
Activities/Sports/Clubs: Football, Wrestling, Track and Field
My advice for younger students is to keep their heads up and never give up. The first few years of high school are tough, and it takes time to adjust. When you are struggling with a unit, project, assignment or task, don’t be afraid to ask for help. It’s ok to feel overwhelmed or lost, because eventually you will grow into who you want to be, as long as you keep trying.
My favorite school subject is art class. I love the idea of starting a project that i’m able to control where it goes. Its a fun, peaceful, and engaging environment. I highly recommend an art class at least once in high school. You can have the ability to unleash your creativity in any project you want.
Shoshoni high school is small, but not small enough to be underwhelming or boring. Shoshoni introduces students to many new classes due to a new schedule change. These classes are unique and flexible, which makes them one-of-a-kind. But what truly makes Shoshoni special has to be the staff. Each staff member is unique and kind in their own way; always ready to help the students with their work. Their attitude and hard work is what motivates me to come to school everyday, and we can’t thank them enough for it.
Nomination: Gabe is a hardworking student who is always engaged and focused on his studies. He cares about his classmates and is dedicated to helping others. Gabe is also very good at problem solving and never backs down from a challenge.
