Each week, staff at Shoshoni High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Kyra Rodriguez was nominated as the Shoshoni High School student of the week by Donna Post.
Kyra is the National Honor Society President, FFA Vice President, Student Council Secretary.
She has received awards as World History Student of the Year Freshman, English Award sophomore year, FFA awards
What advice do you have for younger students?
When life gets challenging and you’re struggling don’t let those obstacles stop you from achieving your goals.
My plan after high school is to go into nursing school. I love helping people I have been set on nursing for a couple of years now. I was so excited when I had the opportunity to do the CNA class this year it is a great start to my career.
The biggest role model that I have in my life is my mom. She is a great role model and she has taught me so much in life. She is a very hardworking person and she does so much with her job and caring for her family. She has always believed in me supported me and helped me when things got hard. She is also a great role model of what it means to be the kind and loving person I aspire to be.
Nomination:
Kyra has been an absolute pleasure to have in class this semester. She has shown great responsibility with prior planning and preparing for class when she will be gone out of class for other activities. Kyra is an active participant in class discussions, proving she is eager to learn! She has also shown increased confidence with completing her skills labs. Congratulations, Kyra!
