(Shoshoni, WY) – The Fremont County School District 24 (Shoshoni) Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, in the boardroom at 404 Wrangler Way in Shoshoni.
The agenda includes several recognition items for students, staff and the community.
The Board will also view a National History Day trip slide show presented by Gretta Kassens and Brogan Crimm and hear from Child Nutrition Program State Director Carla Bankes.
The superintendent’s report includes homeschool requests, lunch program information, student enrollment information, and upcoming events.
The Board will also hear reports from the elementary principal, the secondary principal, the special education director, the business manager, and the activities director.
After considering consent agenda items, the Board will hold a budget transfer hearing for 2024-2025, then consider approving budget transfers for 2024-2025.
The Board will also consider approving:
- a bid for an induction counter with suppression
- purchasing a paint booth from Home Depot for $27,718
Staff said the district was awarded a $25,000 grant through the Wyoming Department of Education for the purchase of the paint booth for the Automotive Revive program.
The Board will consider approving travel to Italy during spring break 2027 for EF Tours before convening into an executive session to discuss personnel.
After the executive session, the Board will consider several personnel items, including hiring:
- Kayla Gilbert as After School Coordinator for 2025-2026
- Katsie McConnaughey as Junior High Girls Head Basketball Coach for 2025-2026
- Carly Schrinar as the Junior High Girls Assistant Basketball Coach for 2025-2026
- Heather Trehearne as the Junior High Boys Assistant Wrestling Coach for 2025-2026
- Anthony Truempler as the Junior High Boys Head Wrestling Coach for 2025-2026
- Erin McFarland as the Youth Girls Basketball Coach for 2025-2026
The Board will also consider approving the following contracts for the 2026-2027 school year:
- Bruce Thoren – Superintendent
- Ted Robinson – Secondary Principal
- Andrea Gilbertson – Elementary Principal
- Aftann Kisling – Special Education Director
The board will consider the following job descriptions for second reading and adoption:
- Home Reading Coordinator
- After-School Program Coordinator
- Title 1 Director
