(Shoshoni, WY) – The Fremont County School District 24 (Shoshoni) Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, in the boardroom at 404 Wrangler Way in Shoshoni.
The agenda for the meeting features multiple recognitions for students, staff, and community members, including:
- the FCSD 24 Board of Trustees, for receiving the Standards of Excellence Award from the Wyoming School Boards Association
- Jordan Whitener, for helping pour and finish the concrete in the pole barn and the new shot put and discus ring
- staff and community members for their support of the FCSD 24 Giving Tree
- Max Mills, who was selected as the 2023-24 Wyoming High School Athletic Director of the Year
- Mr. Neale for this year’s Christmas concert and Jamie Maddock for creating the stage for the Christmas concert
- Gabriel Cornell, Callie Miller, Kyra Rodriguez and Cayden Madrid for completing their coursework and clinical rotations to complete their CNA training
- Mrs. Weaver on being named the Wyoming DARE Teacher of the Year
- Mrs. Kassens for renewing her National Board Certification
- the Shoshoni Masonic Club for putting together and gifting holiday treat bags to students
The board will also hear a recap of the State Drama Presentation followed by the fiscal year 2024 audit report.
The annual board reorganization will take place during the meeting, including the election of officers, committee appointments, and annual designations.
The superintendent’s report includes:
- student enrollment
- liability of early morning practice follow-up
- coaching resignations
- climate survey results
- WHSAA passes for new board members
- WSBA legislative forum
The board will hear administrator and leadership reports from the elementary principal, secondary principal, special education director, business manager, human resources, and the activities director.
Action items on the agenda include:
- accept fiscal year 2023-2024 audit
- approve use of existing signature cards until new signature cards can be obtained
- approve out of state travel
- review Shoshoni health protocol and in-person learning plan
- approve bids to Ryan Brothers Trucking
- approve bids for the New House Foundation, Site Work, and Water and Sewer Taps
- approve bid to Bluum
- approve bid to Natural Playgrounds
- approve bid to School Outfitters
- approve professional services contract to Only Co.
Personnel items on the agenda include:
- approve hiring of elementary special education paraprofessional
- approve hiring of high school boys basketball assistant coach
- accept resignation of Alexandra Desonier as daycare assistant and ratify advertising
- approve resignation of Barbara Engelbrecht as elementary teacher at the end of the 2024-2025 school year
The board will also review several policies, regarding:
-test/assessment administration
-assessment testing administrative
-classified staff recruitment and hiring
-professional staff hiring regulation
-staff assignments and transfers
-development of operational policies
