(Shoshoni, WY) – The Shoshoni Town Council has accepted a $31,000 bid for the sale of municipal property located at Wyoming and Fifth streets, where the town shops are currently situated.
During their Sept. 24 meeting, council members unanimously approved the sole bid received for lots one and two of the property.
The successful bidder was identified as George “Beau” Weaver of Shoshoni.
The property sale leaves four additional lots available for future disposition by the town, officials said.
The sale process highlighted some areas for improvement in the town’s property marketing efforts, with Councilmember Bob Zent relaying feedback from an individual who suggested the town could enhance its property advertisements.
“He thought we should improve our advertisement (to) give a better clarification of what’s there,” Zent said, mentioning sewer and water utilities, for example. “It would just be helpful to get more interest in it.”
Town officials agreed that future property listings should provide more detailed information about available utilities and any necessary improvements to help potential buyers adjust their bids accordingly.
