Shoshoni Mayor Joel Highsmith indicated that Shoshoni’s water system will likely back to normal early next week.
The community has been under a water boil notice after thawing frost broke a 10-inch water main early Tuesday morning.
The water issues were first noticed and reported by a store clerk at Shoshoni’s Fast Lane around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. Shoshoni School closed for one day because of the problem. The Riverton Walmart has been providing shipments of bottled waters to students and staff.
Shoshoni residents are asked to boil their water for at least 3 minutes to kill any bacteria that could be in the water system until they are given the “all-clear” likely next week.
