(Riverton, WY) – It was a rough opening for the Lady Wolverines hosting the Cheyenne Central Lady Indians in their opening game at the Strannigan Classic late Thursday afternoon. Riverton trailed 20-1 to open the game, eventually dropping the contest 59-26.
Riverton had trouble getting the ball past the half court line for much of the first half behind repeated turnovers, both from the Central press in the full court and from errant passes when they were able to set up their offense.
Central passed well and took the ball inside off the dribble effectively and rebounded well, often limiting the Lady Wolverines to just a single shot.
Riverton faces Jackson Hole at 5 pm Friday.
