(Jackson, WY) – After the Jackson Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest discovered a new fire Monday, June 16th, firefighters quickly took suppressive actions.
The fire burned a total of 1.5 acres near Ski Lake in subalpine fir. Jackson residents were able to see smoke from the community.
Just 10 firefighters including one fire engine and a type 3 helicopter fought the blaze and were able to contain it without any additional resources.
A cause of the fire has not yet been released.
Meanwhile, in Sublette County the Horse Fire continues to grow. As of Thursday, June 19th it was listed at 1,356 acres and 6% containment. Updates on that fire can be found here.
