(Laramie, WY) – The Shoshoni High School Future Business Leaders of America crew competed at the March 18-20 FBLA State Leadership Conference held at the UW College of Business in Laramie, where 15 students placed in their categories and qualified for Nationals in San Antonio.
SHS FBLA Advisor Rachel Rapp shared that they brought 19 members to the conference, and each competed in at least two events, with most competing in three or a maximum of four.
Of those students, the following placed and are headed to Nationals.

- Addie Mason & Brenna Metzler – 3rd Place, Sports & Entertainment Management
- Memphis Dolcater & Alexis Bacon – 2nd Place – Broadcast Journalism
- Memphis Dolcater & Alexis Bacon – 2nd Place, Public Service Announcement
- Memphis Dolcater, Alexis Bacon, Cambree Metzler – 1st Place, Community Service Project
- Sage Frank & Kaydence Parazoo – 4th Place, Business Place
- Callie Miller – 2nd Place, Graphic Design
- Brenna Metzler – 1st Place, Business Plan
- Brody Shepard – 1st Place, Job Interview
- Cayden Harris – 2nd Place, Public Speaking

“Watching these students grow and compete this year was an immense joy,” Rapp shared with County 10. “They grew their chapter by over 100%, competed in all Champion Chapter activities, hosted events and practiced their hearts out. I think their dedication and effort were well-rewarded last week, and I am incredibly proud of them all. I can’t wait to watch them compete in San Antonio!”
Rapp added that now their biggest hurdle is logistics and funding the trip for those students.
“With travel costs rising and potential state budget cuts looming, the chapter is aiming to raise $3,000 per student to cover airfare, registration, and lodging,” Rapp said, and added that the community has several ways to get involved throughout the month of April:
- “You’ve Been Flocked!” (April 1–17): Watch out for a flock of bright pink flamingos! Residents can pay to have the flock removed or “sent” to a friend’s yard, and/or they can purchase “flocking insurance” to ensure they aren’t flocked.
- “Buy a Date” Calendar: Students are selling dates on the April, May, and June calendars. Pick a day (like the 15th) and donate that dollar amount ($15) to help them reach their goal. There will be 13 calendars up for grabs, one for each team/event.
- Shoshoni FBLA Spring Craft Fair (April 18, 9am–3pm): Join us for a day of local shopping, supporting both local artists and businesses as well as Shoshoni FBLA! Booth fees and concessions will go directly to the travel fund.
- Sponsorship Tiers: Local businesses (or individuals/families!) can become “Gold,” “Silver,” or “Bronze” sponsors, with benefits including logo placement on the team’s national travel shirts, social media shout outs, and more.
