It was tough to miss the motorcycle awareness rally Sunday afternoon in downtown Riverton with dozens of bikes rumbling their way past onlookers.
Summer in the Rockies, of course, means more motorcycles will be out and about. Over 78% of motorcycle reported crashes result in injury and nearly 5% of them are fatal. Motorcycles have 16 times the rate of serious injuries compared to cars.
On Sunday, an Idaho woman was killed near Alpine, Wyoming after a motorcycle crash occurred.
There have been 55 Wyoming highway deaths reported in 2019, compared to 27 at this time last year, 34 in 2017, and 16 in 2016.
