Riverton’s Willow Creek Elementary School has been collecting non-perishable food items for the last few days, part of their annual “Gobble, Gobble, Give” event.
Willow Creek is one of three schools that have teamed up to help out the Riverton Center of Hope. Jackson Elementary and Ashgrove Elementary schools will tally their total donations later this week.
Classes competed at Willow Creek to see which group could collect the most pounds of food. In total, the school collected 1,604 lbs. Mrs. Howard’s class gathered the most with a whopping 460 pounds of food. Mrs. Meeks’ class came in second with 234 pounds, and Mrs. Hunter’s class was third with 208 pounds.
