Teton County authorities are reporting that a 27-year-old man has died after he was buried in an avalanche while snowmobiling on Togwotee Pass.
Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue identified the man as Dale Walter Clyde Laedtke of New London, Wisconsin.
Shortly before 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon, Teton County Search & Rescue received the report of the avalanche on the north side of Togwotee Pass, about 50 miles northeast of Jackson.
The man was snowmobiling with three friends who told authorities he was buried for about 5 minutes before they were able to dig him out. CPR was attempted. The man was pronounced dead just before 5:00 p.m. Monday.
A cause of death was not officially released at this time by the Teton County Coroner.
