(Lander, WY) – The City of Lander shared some “good news” last week in a press release from Community Development Coordinator Anne Even highlighting the installation of several new drinking fountains at Lander City Park.
“This project was made possible by a generous $29,539 grant from the LOR Foundation and the vision of Paiglee Michael,” Even said. “As a graduating senior, Paiglee took her capstone project – a mission to reduce plastic bottle waste – and made it a reality. (She) even helped select the features and colors!”
The new additions at City Park include a new indoor fountain at the Parks and Recreation building and three outdoor drinking fountains – one each by the Legion baseball field/tennis courts, the Lion’s Shelter, and near the restrooms at the back of the park, Even said, thanking the City of Lander Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments, City Plumbing, and Ellis Concrete for lending their “dedication and expertise” to the project.
Each outdoor installation features two standard fountains at varying heights, a water bottle refill station, a jug filler, and a pet drinking bowl station, Even said, while the indoor fountain includes a “convenient water bottle refill station.”
“Next time you’re in City Park, check out these amazing new fountains,” she said. “They’re perfect for staying hydrated and reducing waste!”
