(Wyoming) – The National Weather Service office in Cheyenne has announced a, “marginal to enhanced” risk of severe weather Monday, June 16. Primarily, the areas of concern are in southeastern and western Wyoming.
Areas of Fremont County, including Riverton and Shoshoni are in the “marginal” severe storm risk zone, shaded in dark green on the map provided. Meanwhile, Douglas, Glendo, Lusk, Lance Creek and Bill are in the “slight” risk zone. Western Nebraska has a more increased chance at turbulent weather than most of Wyoming Monday.
NWS Cheyenne described, “the main concern in storms will be large hail and damaging winds, but an isolated tornado could be possible. Storms will develop this afternoon and continue through the evening hours. Nocturnal convection cannot be ruled out after midnight as well.”
