All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
(Riverton, WY) – Yesterday, April 29, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office issued a release concerning a reported shooting/burglary incident in the area of Burma Road in Riverton, which resulted in two subjects being detained.
One of those subjects, 32-year-old Kevin Pino, now faces six different charges in addition to two warrants out of Laramie County, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office call Log issued on April 30.
Those charges include: Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree, Aggravated Assault and Battery, Aggravated Burglary, Larceny, Interference with a Peace Officer, and Felon in Possession of a Weapon.
Yesterday’s FCSO release informed that following a reported burglary, Pino was later located by employees of the business that had been burglarized, in the area of Burma Road and Darnell Road.
Pino “allegedly fired several shots at the employees from a handgun before fleeing the area,” resulting in one subject who was injured by shrapnel from a bullet that struck the windshield of their vehicle.
Pino was later located and arrested by FCSO Deputies and Riverton Police Department officers at around 9:24 AM.
The affidavit/information documents have not been filed for these charges in the Fremont County public registry as of 12 PM on April 30.
However, an information/affidavit warrant document filed with the Circuit Court of the 1st Judicial District in Laramie County indicates that a warrant for Pino’s arrest was issued on April 16.
That document states that on April 15, Pino “did unlawfully escape from official detention… and without proper authorization did fail to remain within the extended limits of his confinement or to return with the time prescribed,” in this case, the Cheyenne Transitional Center, the act of which is a felony charge.
The April 30 FCSO call Log also informs that the second subject who was detained in relation to the incident, 18-year-old Riverton man Kenneth Hebah, has been charged with Aggravated Burglary.
No updates have been provided regarding the third subject reported to be involved in the incident, who is suspected to be a female.
