(Riverton, WY) – Two juveniles and a third subject were reported to have been involved in an early morning home invasion on June 12, according to the Riverton Police Department.

In the early morning hours of June 12, officers with the Riverton Police Department responded to a report of a home invasion at a house in the area of Walnut & Adams. Initial information indicated that three individuals forcibly entered a residence, confronted the occupants, and assaulted one of the homeowners. The homeowner subsequently retrieved a firearm and called 911, at which point the suspects fled the residence in a vehicle.
Responding officers located a truck matching the description provided by witnesses traveling at a high rate of speed in the area and conducted a traffic stop. The occupants of the vehicle were detained and interviewed. During the investigation, two individuals (juveniles) were arrested on unrelated charges.
Officers continued their investigation by interviewing the homeowners and obtaining descriptions of the suspects involved in the incident. Those descriptions were consistent with the individuals who had been detained during the traffic stop. The assaulted homeowner reported sustaining minor injuries.
Based on information gathered during the investigation, officers believe this was a targeted incident involving an ongoing feud and that there is no ongoing threat to the general public. The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
