Wyoming’s Superintendent of Public Instruction visited Wind River Job Corps Tuesday, March 5th.
Superintendent Jillian Balow and Communications Director Michelle Panos toured the facility, visiting all the trades and having impromptu conversations with several students during passing time.
After the tour Superintendent Balow met with Wind River Job Corp Director Jim Whitmire where Director Whitmire shared that Wind River Job Corps will have all its bed spaces filled by the middle of April.
Whitmire also shared that local school districts have partnered with Wind River Job Corps through concurrent enrollment agreements which should start to fill the 40 positions for non-resident students.
Wind River Job Corps received word that it is in first place among all Job Corps centers when it comes to highest wages earned upon program completion.
With the addition of the medical assistant program and the hospitality program in partnership with Central Wyoming College and the Wind River Hotel and Casino Superintendent Balow stated she was impressed and very supportive of the Job Corps program.
