(Fremont County, WY) – Yesterday, February 25, the FBI arrested “an illegal immigrant with probable ties to a known transnational drug trafficking organization” that was “recently designated as a foreign terrorist organization,” according to a release shared by the FBI Denver Field Office on February 26.
The subject, a Mexican National whose name was not shared in the release, was arrested “on charges he distributed large quantities of methamphetamine on and around the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming.” They were ultimately taken into custody in Fremont County “without incident.”
“He was found with approximately one pound of methamphetamine and multiple firearms,” the release informs. “Two other individuals were also taken into custody, one of whom was in the country illegally.”
“The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Trails Task Force conducted this investigation, with special assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement – Enforcement and Removal Operations, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service,” the release continues.
“The FBI will continue to work with federal, state, local and tribal partners to stop the flow of illegal drugs and disrupt foreign terrorist organizations.”
