In early November 2018, Sutherlands signed a letter of intent to purchase the former Kmart building in Riverton, at 1960 North Federal Boulevard.
The home improvement and building materials chain officially finished the necessary paperwork in late March to go ahead with plans to expand to Fremont County.
The chain currently has 49 stores in 14 states, including one in Casper.
The company released the following statement this week about their Riverton purchase,
Sutherlands Finalized the purchase of our new Building at 1960 N. Federal Blvd. Riverton WY. ( old KMART building) on Friday 3/29/2019.We are very excited and looking forward to opening if all goes well in the Fall of 2019.
Congratulations to Brandon Powell the new Store Manager and he will also be heading up the Remodel. He is excited and looking forward to Relocating to Freemont County WY.
