I, Jeff Martin, House District 54 Candidate, decline the invitation to participate in the July 7, 2026, forum hosted by the League of Women Voters due to the following:
LWV group claims to be non-partisan, but adopts public positions contrary to the Constitution, the 23 planks of the Wyoming Republican Party, and common-sense Conservative Christian values.
As a registered lobbying organization in the state of Wyoming, the LWV values closely align with the left wing of the Democrat Party.
For instance the LWV called for President Trump’s removal from office and banishment from ever running for federal office again.
The LWV filed an amicus brief against Wyoming suing to overturn state law requiring proof of citizenship. It has taken positions since 2022 that are contrary to its stated goals of protecting and expanding voting rights. They have testified against legislation to hand count paper ballots. LWV is pro abortion and anti 2nd Amendment that are contrary to life liberty and pursuit of happiness.
My question is, since their values align with the Democrat Party, what is the purpose for the LWV wanting to hold the Republican Candidate forum for House District 54?
