Fremont County is large, diverse, and filled with opinions, or “talk in the 10.” “Talk in the 10” is an opportunity for you, our readers, to articulate and share your thoughts about what is happening in the community with the community. (Fremont County, WY) – We at County 10 want to thank all of the 10’rs across the county who submitted Talk in the 10 Letter to the Editor opinion submissions during the lead-up to the 2024 Election.
County 10 started the Talk in the 10 series in 2022 as a way for Fremont County residents to have their voices heard on the subjects that matter most to them, and have averaged about three or four submissions a week since that time.
During the months and last few days of November prior to the 2024 Election Night, we published over 30 letters and received dozens of submissions writing about the races that elicited the strongest opinions from our readers, whether it was the Lander school board race, the half cent sales tax, or the House District 33 race.
While we reviewed and published as many of the submissions as possible, we couldn’t get to all the letters and wanted to acknowledge that fact and apologize to those folks right now. There were about 10-15 submissions that we either did not have the time to fully review, or were in various stages of edits with the submitters. Seeing as the Election has wrapped up, we will not be moving forward with publishing any of those submissions and wanted to let those folks know as much in this letter.
Once again, these letters represent YOUR voice as a Fremont County resident, and we sincerely thank those who took the time to submit.
While the Election may be over, Talk in the 10 is not going anywhere and we hope that our readers will still utilize this outlet to voice their opinions.
We also want to reiterate that these letters help us as a news organization keep our thumb on the pulse of the issues/subjects that matter most to residents in Fremont County, and sometimes they even become the starting point for more in-depth pieces that we will report on later.
Remember, Talk in the 10 letters cannot exceed 500 words, must be an opinion, must be the opinion of an individual and not an entire group/organization unless clearly approved, and any opinions that use facts as back-up must provide sources/links.
