To Those Being So Critical of Our Lander School Board;
My background includes 32 years as a classroom teacher at the elementary and junior high levels, a coach of boys and girls sports, and an administrator at the junior high and senior high. So, it is not from ignorance, but experience from which I speak.
I applaud and appreciate every school board member I ever worked with because I understand that they served not for the salary (which does not exist), but for a desire to enhance their community by supporting our schools.
I certainly did not agree with every Board decision ever made, but I understood it was made by every Board member doing what they believed to be in the best interests of our children. That is why they got on the Board to begin with.
That is why, Lander, that we need to support our Board members and not ‘slam’ them when we disagree with a decision. It is not wrong to disagree, but there is a right way to do it.
I guess it is within your rights to form your little PAC (or pack, as the case may be), but please don’t attack those that have put themselves out there to try and make our community a better place for us all, especially our kids.
I applauded the current members of Fremont County School District Number 1 and thank you for your service.
