The Wyoming-Taiwan trade mission is off and running and this morning (2:30 am our time) we celebrate the grand opening of the Wyoming-Asia Pacific Trade Office.
The hope is that Wyoming ranchers benefit from increased Asian demand for beef.
Wyoming beef producers Val Murray (Powell) and Dave True (Casper), Seaton and Forrest Smith (Powell) of GF Harvest, and Chad Brown (Pine Bluffs) of Wyoming Malting are meeting with buyers, grocers, wholesalers, importers, etc., as part of the trade mission. The beef track is also visiting a processing plant. New Wyoming-Asia Pacific Trade Office Director Chester Chu scheduled meetings for our business men and women.
Wyoming international trade representative Chester Chu initiated the meetings as part of his role in helping Wyoming companies establish a presence in Asian markets.
Chu is tasked with establishing relationships between Asian buyers and distributors and Wyoming businesses, assisting Wyoming exporters traveling to Asia and attending trade industry events. He will also educate Wyoming businesses on exporting to Taiwan and identify market demand Wyoming can fulfill.
Chu’s presence in Taiwan will help Wyoming raise the profile of its products – including agriculture, minerals and manufactured goods – to the 23.5 million people in Taiwan.
