👟 Run the Red is a 25k and 50k race starting in South Pass City. The race takes place on Wyoming Public Lands Day — always the fourth Saturday in September — and embodies “the importance of public lands” in Wyoming. Race registration for the adult races closed Thursday, but the Kids Race signup starts at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 28.
The Fremont County Walk to End Alzheimer’s starts at 9 a.m. in Lander City Park (405 Fremont St., Lander). Opening ceremonies start at 10:15 am.
🍅 And don’t forget to see what garage sales there are this weekend, or what’s at the farmers’ markets in Riverton and Lander.
Friday:
The Veterans Coffeehouse – Every weekday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Lander Community Veterans Resource Center (190 Custer Street, Lander), enjoy a free cup of coffee and spend some time with a veteran.
🎨 Artist Trading Cards – Make a 2.5″ x 3.5″ piece of art for trading and collecting! Maker Space 307 (826 W Main St, Riverton) has a class starting at 1 p.m. Cost: $15.
Deka Guy-Hee Lunch Special – The Shoshoni Rose Casino & Hotel (5690 US-287, Lander) has a Friday Smoked Beef Ribs special running from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.
☑️ Meet the Candidates – The Lander and Riverton Chambers of Commerce are hosting a social evening at the 307 Bar and Grill at the Riverton Country Club (502 Westchester Circle, Riverton) with candidates for Riverton City Council, Riverton School Board (FCSD #25), Fremont County Commission, and Wyoming State Legislature starting at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 for non-Chamber members.
Tiny Beautiful Things – The Lander Art Center (258 Main St, Lander) presents Communal Pancake’s staging of “Tiny Beautiful Things.” Tickets are $15. Show starts at 7 p.m.
🆓 FREE EVENT: Friday Night Dancing – The Riverton Senior Citizens Center (303 East Lincoln Ave, Riverton) hosts the “Three Fiths” at 7 p.m. for a night of mingling and dancing. All are welcome.
Saturday:
🌺 Kids Corner: DIY Bookmarks – The Dubois Museum (909 W Rams Horn St, Dubois) has programming starting at 10:30 a.m. to combine flower and leaf pressing with creating your own bookmark. Cost is $3 per child.
Friends of Riverton Library Book Sale – Starts at 11 a.m. at the Riverton Branch Library (1330 West Park Ave., Riverton). Sale of gently used books, DVDs, CDs, and records to benefit the Riverton Library!
🍂 Riverton Fall Harvest Festival – The Riverton Fall Harvest Festival starts at Noon on Main Street in Downtown Riverton. Games, food, music, vendors, and more continue until 6 p.m. Funds raised during the event benefit the Riverton Downtowners Main Street Alliance, but the 🎃 Fremont Local Market will specifically be raising funds for the Riverton High School Speech & Debate team during their Pumpkin Sale.
Family Fun Night – Lander Travels is fundraising at Liquid Courage (592 Main Street Suite I, Lander) to support travel to the Mediterranean next summer. This is a family-friendly event (alcohol will NOT be served) and is $20 for adults, $20 for kids. Starts at 5 p.m.
👻 Alma Law’s Riverton Haunted History Tour – The next tour kicks off after the Fall Harvest Festival at 7 p.m. Cost is $10.
