If you’re looking for something to do this summer, this may be the best weekend to do it! There is something in almost every corner of Fremont County to get you outside and celebrating with your friends:
The 32nd Annual Rocky Mountain Rebels Car Show and Autocross runs all weekend in downtown Riverton, and includes three days of cars, food, and fun. Check out the Friday Night Cruise on Main Street, or the Autocross competitions on Saturday and Sunday (starting at 9 a.m.)
🎈 If a car show isn’t your thing, perhaps a balloon ride will help? The 44th annual Riverton Rendezvous Hot Air Balloon Rally is also this weekend, with the Balloon Glow on Saturday night in Riverton.
And the Ethete Celebration and Pow-Wow is Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Ethete Powwow Grounds. Festivities start at 8 a.m. and last until 5 p.m. each day!
Friday:
🐴 Youth Horse Show – Friday and Saturday at the Fremont County Fairgrounds. Starts at 7 a.m. both days.
Friends of Riverton Library Book Sale – If you’re shopping for gently used books, DVDs, audio books, vinyl records and albums head over to the Riverton Library (1330 West Park Ave., Riverton) at 11 a.m. and support your local library!
🎶 Music in the Mountains – Absaroka Ranch continues three days of music in Dubois with “CW & Twenty Hands High” and John King. Tickets are $40; music starts at 6:30 p.m.
Dubois Friday Night Rodeo: Starts 7:30 p.m. at the Clarence Allison Memorial Arena (5639 US 26, Dubois). Tickets are $15 for adults (cash only at the gate, no ticket presales.)
🎨 Summer Art Showcase – Wind River Gallery & Framing (310 E Main St, Riverton) is hosting an art showcase during the Rocky Mountain Rebels Car Show, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Explore local art and meet with artist Scott Schoening and photographer Spenser Yowell.
Bingo at the Riverton Senior Center – Starts at 7 p.m., $10 a card to participate. (303 East Lincoln Ave, Riverton).
🆓 FREE EVENT: Street Dance at Bar 10 – Starting at 5 p.m., Bar 10 (113 S Broadway Ave, Riverton) will be presenting a street dance with the Saddle Tramps, a four-piece band from Buffalo, Wyoming (music starts at 7 p.m., car show starts at 5 p.m.)
Saturday:
🪗 Jam Time – The Lander Art Center (258 Main St., Lander) is hosting an open jam from 10 a.m. until Noon. All instruments, ages, and skill levels welcome.
Suicide Awareness Balloon Walk – Begins at 10:00 AM at McManus Park (1352 City Park Dr.) and concludes at the Lander Pig Roast.
🐽 Lander Pig Roast – Kicks off at 11 a.m. in Lander City Park. Free pulled pork sandwiches from Noon until they’re gone!
Music in the Mountains – Absaroka Ranch concludes its three day music festival in Dubois with the Levi Blom band, and Martin & Kelly. Music starts at 6:30 p.m.; tickets are $40.
😘 Romancing the West – A documentary concert starring singer-songwriter Christina Lynn Martin and Cowboy Poet and Balladeer Butch Martin. Tickets are $10, show starts at 7 p.m. at the Wind River Masonic Lodge and Shoshoni Senior Center (214 E. 2nd Street, Shoshoni).
🆓 FREE EVENT: Coalter Block Summer Music – Lauren Podjun begins at 8 p.m. at the Lander Bar and Gannett Grill (126 Main St, Lander).
Sunday:
⛪ Totus Tuus Church Camp – St. Margaret’s Catholic Church (620 E. Fremont, Riverton) is hosting a summer youth program that starts Sunday, July 21 at 9 a.m. It is $25 per student, or $65 for a family of three or more.
Ethete Peewee Rodeo – It’s the first stick-horse rodeo for kids ages ten and under! Free to enter and competition starts at 10 a.m.
Romancing the West – A documentary concert starring singer-songwriter Christina Lynn Martin and Cowboy Poet and Balladeer Butch Martin. Tickets are $15, show starts at 7 p.m. at the Headwaters Arts and Conference Center (20 Stalnaker Street, Dubois).
🆓 FREE EVENT: Crossroads of Wyoming Speed Trials – If you want to race, it’s $10 a run ($40 all day,) but if you want to watch, it’s free to spectate! The starting line is at 1370 7th Street in Shoshoni, near Wyoming Mushrooms, and doors open at 7 a.m.
