This weekend is the 65th edition of the annual Eastern Shoshone Indian Days Powwow! It’s Wyoming’s largest and longest-running powwow celebration, with the Friday Grand Entry starting at 7 p.m. (registration begins at 4 p.m.) Dancers of all ages are welcome for three days filled with Indigenous excellence, resilience, and joy. This powwow is open to everyone all weekend!

Friday:
🏞️ Red Canyon Ranch Community Fence Pull – Join The Nature Conservancy in Wyoming to help our local wildlife by removing fence at the historic Red Canyon Ranch. Volunteer should meet in the Bomgaars parking lot (275 Grandview Dr.) at 8:30 a.m. to carpool to Red Canyon.
🆓 FREE EVENT: Free Play Friday – The Lander Library (451 N Second St, Lander) hosts play time for moms and their little ones in the Discovery Room, starting at 10:30 a.m.
📚 Lander Library Book Nook – The Book Nook is in the lower level of the Carnegie building (451 N Second St) and has a good selection of used books in all subject areas, DVDs, audio books, music CDs, and, often, games and puzzles available from Noon until 4 p.m.
🖌️ Oil Painting en Plein Air – Join Lander Burton for a series of two-day plein air workshops focused on the art of observing and creating in nature. Each session includes a Friday evening orientation at the Lander Art Center (258 Main St., Lander) from 5 to 7 p.m., and a Saturday morning session in Sinks Canyon from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
🎭 Seven Brides for Seven Brothers – Catch the magic on stage at the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theater (2660 Peck Ave., Riverton) at 7 p.m. starting June 19! Cost: $12
🤠 Dubois Friday Night Rodeo – Every Friday night in Dubois at the Clarence Allison Memorial Arena (5639 US-26, Dubois) starting at 7:30 p.m. Cost: $20
🎸 Live Music with The Man In Tan – The Rustic Pine Tavern (123 E. Ramshorn, Dubois) continues Summer Music Fest with solo artist The Man in Tan at 9:00 p.m.

⛑️ First Aide and CPR Training – For those that want to train with the American Heart Association, head to the Adult Education & Cyber Center (302 W Ramshorn, Dubois) at 8 a.m. and find the Center Classroom (upstairs!). Cost: $55
🆓 FREE EVENT: Jam Time! at the Lander Art Center (258 Main St., Lander) starts at 10 a.m. All instruments, ages and skill sets welcome!
📻 Radio Field Day 2025 – The Central Wyoming Amateur Radio Club will be showcasing Emergency and Backcountry Communications at Jaycee Park (W Sunset Dr, Riverton) from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
🐎 3rd Annual Wind River Wild Ride Endurance Race – Head to Dubois Town Park (909 W. Ramshorn, Dubois) at 10 a.m. for the National Day of the Cowboy endurance race. (Race entry is until 9 a.m.)
🥾 Historic Ramshorn Ranch Tour – Join the Dubois Museum (909 W Ramshorn, Dubois) to visit the Ramshorn Ranch on this Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek starting at 10 a.m. Cost: $15
🪨 Geology of Beaver Rim – The Pioneer Museum (1443 W Main, Lander) will host Stan Grove on a combination driving and walking tour of the geology of Beaver Rim, starting at 10 a.m. Cost: $15

📽️ What’s in a Name? – This documentary highlights the partnership between paleontologist Dr. Dave Lovelace and the Wind River Reservation community that led to the naming of three new paleontological taxa. Screenings are at 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Fort Washakie High School
