It’s a big weekend in the 10! In Lander you can check out the Pig Roast and find food, music, and cornhole! In Riverton it’s the annual Balloon Rally as well as the Rocky Mountain Rebels car show and autocross. But if you’re looking to get out into nature this weekend, Sinks Canyon State Park has several programs, and will be celebrating the opening of the Sunnyside Trail!

Friday:
🎈 45th Annual Riverton Rendezvous Balloon Rally – The balloon launches start at 6 a.m. at the CWC Soccer Fields (2660 Peck Ave, Riverton). Make sure you check out their calendar for the full weekend’s event schedule!
🆓 FREE EVENT: Free Play Friday – The Lander Library (451 N Second St, Lander) hosts play time for moms and their little ones in the Discovery Room, starting at 10:30 a.m.
📙 Friends of the Riverton Branch Library Book Sale – Head to the Mezzanine of the Riverton Public Library (1330 W Park Ave., Riverton) for used books, dvds and LP records starting at 11 a.m.
🖌️ Watercolor en Plein Air – Join Lander Burton for a series of two-day plein air workshops focused on the art of observing and creating in nature. Each session includes a Friday evening orientation at the Lander Art Center (258 Main St., Lander) from 5 to 7 p.m., and a Saturday morning session in Sinks Canyon from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
🛞 Rocky Mountain Rebel Car & Bike Show – Starts at 6 p.m. on Main Street in Riverton.
🏎️ 3rd Annual Soap Box Car Derby – It’s free to attend this event on Main Street Hill in Riverton, or $20 to enter your own soap box derby car in the race! Starts at 6:30 p.m.
💃🏽 Swingin’ Fridays with WyoJazz – Head to the Lander Senior Center (205 S. 10th St., Lander) to enjoy swing dancing and music from WyoJazz, starting at 7:00 p.m.
🤠 Dubois Friday Night Rodeo – Every Friday night in Dubois at the Clarence Allison Memorial Arena (5639 US-26, Dubois) starting at 7:30 p.m. Cost: $20
🎸 Live Music with Brennan Scott Greene – The Rustic Pine Tavern (123 E. Ramshorn, Dubois) continues Summer Music Fest with Brennan Scott Greene at 9:00 p.m.
Saturday:
🪱 Getting Starting with Vermicomposting – Learn how to make your own worm bins starting at 10 a.m. at the Adult Education & Cyber Center (302 W. Ramshorn, Dubois). Cost: $5
🥾 Sunnyside Trail Grand Opening – Join Sinks Canyon State Park (3018 Sinks Canyon Rd., Lander) at 10 a.m. at the upper Sunnyside Trail trailhead, near the southern park boundary, for a celebration of this historic trail opening.
🆓 FREE EVENT: Jam Time! at the Lander Art Center (258 Main St., Lander) starts at 10 a.m. All instruments, ages and skill sets welcome!
📚 Lander Library Book Nook – The Book Nook is in the lower level of the Carnegie building (451 N Second St) and has a good selection of used books in all subject areas, DVDs, audio books, music CDs, and, often, games and puzzles available from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
🐦 Beginner Bird Walk – Meet Join Ranger Lacey at the Sinks Canyon State Park Visitor Center (3018 Sinks Canyon Rd., Lander) to explore the basics of birding starting at 10:30 a.m. Binoculars will be available, but feel free to bring your own!
🐷 Lander Pig Roast – Opening ceremonies are at 10 a.m., then stay at Lander City Park (405 Fremont St, Lander) for the music, games, and fun!
🫧 Foam Party – Kids of all ages are welcome at the Dubois Library (202 North 1st Street Dubois) to have fun dancing in the foam, starting at 1 p.m.
🐍 Rattlesnakes of Sinks Canyon – Join Idaho University research staff to learn all about the life and habits of native prairie rattlesnakes starting at 1 p.m. at the Sinks Canyon State Park Visitor Center (3018 Sinks Canyon Rd., Lander).
