The Weekender: Trek around the 10 or catch a free movie in the park!

The Wyoming Jade Festival 💎 begins today in Jeffrey City! From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through August 11th, this event is for rock enthusiasts and jade hunters alike. There is a $2 donation for entry that goes to the JCVFD Community Hall.

While you’re in Jeffrey City, take the Riverton Museum’s Adventure Trek and get to know Wyoming’s most famous atomic boomtown. Admission is $10 per person, and a carpool from the Riverton Museum leaves at 2 p.m.

It’s also the last day to sign up the kids for ⚽ Riverton Youth Soccer this fall. Registration is $40 and can be completed online.

And don’t forget to check out the garage sales and your farmers’ markets in Riverton and Lander this weekend!

Friday:

👶 Breastfeeding Support Walk-In Clinic – Specially trained Maternal Child Health Nurses will be available for walk-in breastfeeding support from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Fremont County Public Health Department in both Lander and Riverton.

Dubois Friday Night Rodeo – Starts at 7:30 p.m., tickets are $15 for adults (cash only at the gate.)

🪕 Coalter Block Summer Music – Enjoy the Poudre Valley Playboys at the Coalter Loft in the the Lander Bar and Gannett Grill from 8 to 11 p.m.

Dubois Aviation Appreciation Night – Stop by Dubois Town Park starting at 6 p.m. for the Bouncy House Bonanza or 9 p.m. for the Pixar movie “Planes.” Bring your own chair!

🆓 FREE EVENT: Friday Night Dancing at the Riverton Senior Center – Stop by from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for an evening of fun and dancing. Tonight’s band: “The Classics.”

Saturday:

🪘 Jam Time – The Lander Art Center (258 Main St., Lander) is hosting an open jam from 10 a.m. until Noon. All instruments, ages, and skill levels welcome.

Healing and Rhythm Inclusive Drum Circle Series – Open to all at Lander City Park from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.

🥧 Phiferfest – The Fremont County Pioneer Museum in Lander hosts a barbecue, music festival, and plenty of apple pie starting at 12 p.m.

Buffalo BBQ – The Dubois Volunteer Fire Department is raising funds for new equipment and training at this year’s annual event. Try the pit-cooked buffalo roast, hamburgers, and sides from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for a $25 donation to the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department.

Night Photography Class at South Pass City – Friends of South Pass City host a night photography course with Laura Redmond that starts at 9 p.m. There will be opportunities to shoot at both South Pass City and the Carissa Mine. The class is open to all skill levels, reservations are required.

🆓 FREE EVENT: Movies in the Park – The City of Riverton hosts “Raya & the Last Dragon” as the last in this summer’s free outdoor movie series. Films begin at dusk. Bring your own blanket!

Sunday:

🎼 Trans Nebraska Players – Dubois Chamber Music presents the first of this season’s concerts at the Headwaters Events Center. “Musical Calamities–A Performance Inquiring into Regrettable Events In The Lives of Composers” begins at 3 p.m. in the Upstairs Gallery. There will be no charge to attend.
