On Friday, January 18th the Thermopolis Police Department announced they were seeking help in locating two individuals wanted in connection with a theft from the Family Dollar store in downtown Thermopolis.
Later that day, TPD confirmed to County 10 that both suspects were spotted in two different Riverton businesses. Thermopolis Police said that the suspects had allegedly been attempting a scam in which one person would bring a cart full of items out of the store while the other was paying for them. The credit card that they paid with was not valid, and as it was declined by the cashier, the other suspect had already loaded all of the merchandise into their vehicle. Both individuals then fled the store without paying for their items.
TPD identified these suspects as 38-year-old Taylor Romero and 36-year-old Jennifer Eagle.
Thursday afternoon, the Thermopolis Police Department told County 10 that both suspects had been arrested in Fremont County.
The Riverton Police Department reported that Romero was arrested Tuesday and the Fremont County Sheriff’s office reported that Eagle was arrested Thursday. Both were arrested on warrants and possession of a controlled substance.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
