Commissioner Clarence Thomas was originally elected in 2016 and has served as a Fremont County Commissioner for 10 years. Commissioner Thomas’s leadership style is Servant Leadership, which moves him to understand the full commitment of service to his community and constituents.
Commissioner Clarence Thomas is a Disabled Veteran who served as a SGT. with the 2nd/82nd Assault Bn, 82nd Airborne Division. Commissioner Clarence Thomas also served as a Federal Law Enforcement officer with the B.I.A. law Enforcement and has 26 years of experience in administration and management.
Commissioner Clarence Thomas earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science from Northern Arizona University and his Master of Science Degree in Business Leadership with an emphasis in Organizational Structural Development.
Commissioner Clarence Thomas priorities as a commissioner has been to first serve the people of Fremont County and to move Fremont County Government to a more efficient form of government of service. He has emphasized the importance of non-micromanagement of Governing Boards under the Fremont County Commission and has made an effort to support a more collaborative style of management with transparent communication which develops growth and positive progression.
Commissioner Clarence Thomas is known for his listening and hearing of the information presented and his willingness to work with others with respect toward solving county issues.
Commissioner Thomas, as liaison to the Tribal Governments, has brought together Fremont County government and both the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho Tribal Governments to meet monthly and to discuss issues that affect all three governments.
In closing, the people of Fremont County deserve a County government that is transparent, effective, fair, responsible, and approachable. Clarence Thomas, if elected, will continue to serve the people of his district in Fremont County with the voice of steadfast experience.
