(Riverton, WY) – Three juveniles, ages 12, 13, and 15, have been charged in relation to recent break-ins that occurred at Aspen Elementary School and Woodward’s Liquor Store overnight from Monday, October 27, to Tuesday, October 28, Riverton Police Department Chief Eric Hurtado shared with County 10.
According to the recent RPD call logs, a reporting party (RP) informed dispatch of a break-in at Woodward’s Liquor on N. Federal Blvd. at 12:16 AM on October 28, and noted “broken glass on the south side” of the building.
The call log report also advised to “See PD news release for further” information. The release shared on the RPD Facebook page stated the following:
“Riverton Police Officers are currently investigating a couple of break-ins which occurred overnight. Several subjects of interest have been detained. More information will be provided as this is still an active investigation.”
Chief Hurtado confirmed today that the drive-thru window was broken out, and that it’s still being investigated as to whether or not anything was taken.
The second break-in was reported at 7:45 AM on Tuesday morning, and the RP noted that “three juveniles broke windows” at Aspen Elementary School, located on East Sunset Drive.
“Nothing (was) apparently taken,” in relation to this break-in, Chief Hurtado shared.
After the three juveniles were identified and charged, two were released back to their parents, and one was “booked into the Fremont County Detention Center due to previous history,” Chief Hurtado went on to tell County 10.
He added that “charges against the parents are under review for allowing the juveniles to be out past curfew.”
