(Lander, WY) – It came down to one stroke for the Fremont County rivals at the Terry Berg Invitational Golf Tournament held at the Lander Country Club.
The host Tigers edged their rivals from Riverton 612 to 613 to win the tournament.
Paced by a first-place finish by William Oland and with Isaiah Webb and Joshua Lozier finishing fifth and seventh, the Tigers had three golfers in the top 10.
“It was a great tournament experience for the Tigers we got to play all 26 golfers in our program for two days. 17 boys and nine girls. It was windy the last day the second nine and William Oland did a great job of handling the conditions to be the only player under par for the tournament, winning it,” Lander head coach Mike Watson said. “As always we are never trying to beat another team. We are trying to control the controllables we can for ourselves as golfers and play one shot at a time. Easier said than done though at times.”
Riverton was led by Shoshoni’s Caden Kisling, who shot 150.
Riverton had four golfers in the top 10, with Brody Taylor fourth, Cameron Brown tied with Lozier in seventh, and John Hull 10th.
The match came down to Tayten Jacks, who finished just outside the top 10, shooting a 159 for 11th place.
