It’s been a busy summer for recent Dubois High School graduate Wyatt Trembly. Trembly played in three all-star football games after graduating last May.
The talented senior running back and linebacker will soon depart for Black Hills State University on a football scholarship but in the weeks between his two state track titles in the hurdles and reporting for pre-season practice in Spearfish he played in the Wyoming Shrine Bowl, the Wyoming-Nebraska 6-man All-Star Game and most recently in the Can Am Bowl.
The Can Am Bowl was held in Meeteetse this year featuring all-star players in 6-man football from Canada pitted against players from Texas, Colorado, Nebraska, Montana, and Wyoming.
Joining Trembly from Wyoming were Jordan Michaels of Burlington, Joe Pina of Meeteetse, and Seth Maxon and Isaiah Skalberg from Little Snake River.
Trembly had an outstanding game, rushing for a pair of touchdowns and throwing for two more as the American team erased a 10-point deficit in the third quarter to pull away for a 65-44 win on 31 unanswered points.
The come-from-behind win moves the USA to a 21-5 advantage in the series. Team America has won three straight and 12 of the last 13 games.
Prior to the all-star game in Meeteetse, the two teams marched in the Cody Stampede Fourth of July Parade.
