(Casper, WY) – Both the Lander Valley High School girls and boys basketball teams are off to the State 3A Tournament in Casper this week.
The Lady Tigers went an impressive 21-4 overall this season and are the number two seed from the 3A West. They’ll match-up with the east’s three seed, Burns Lady Broncs, in the quarterfinals Thursday morning. Burns finished the year going 16-13. Tip-off begins at 9:00 a.m.
The Tiger boys concluded regionals at 16-9 overall. They’ll be the third seed from the 3A West. The first round matches LVHS up with the Torrington Trailblazers, who are 10-11 overall. The Blazers had an impressive regional performance and are feeling some positive momentum into the State Tournament despite the under .500 record. Boys tip-off is scheduled for Noon.
Scott Fuller will be on hand to bring you play-by-play of all the Lander action. Once again this year, the Wyoming High School Activities Association’s contract with the NFHS Network prohibits local media from streaming video of tournament games.
