(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County Rodeo Grounds in Riverton were filled with horse trailers, pickups and SUVs last Friday at Saturday for the annual Riverton High School rodeo. A total of 86 boys and girls, many competing in multiple events, gathered in Riverton for the final event.
There were a couple of first-place finishers from Fremont County. Landon Gold of Riverton won the Saturday steer wrestling in 5.1 seconds after suffering an injury in Friday’s event when the steer he was throwing flew vertically into the air, hitting Gold in the ribs.

On Friday, Shoshoni’s Ryker Crimm teamed up with Heston Crozier of Buffalo in team roping. Crimm was the heeler and Crozier the header with a winning time of 7.15 seconds.
Also on Friday, Shoshoni’s Elizabeth Severude was third in pole bending, and Ian Ruby of Pavillion was fourth in bull riding.
Emma Martin of Lander was fourth in barrel racing on Saturday and the team of Kasen McConnaughey of Riverton and Hoyt Peil from Thermopolis was third in 7.280.
