(Riverton, WY) – A 17-year-old and a 15-year-old have been cited for property destruction after it was determined they had shot out the windows of multiple vehicles in the Riverton area on March 13, according to the Riverton Police Department call log issued on March 14.
At 6:09 PM on Thursday, RPD received a call informing that a window of the reporting party’s vehicle had been shot out in the area of N Broadway Ave., and that they had video footage of he incident.
After taking the report and reviewing the video, RPD made a positive identification, and a 17-year-old Riverton boy was later “arrested and charged with several counts of Property Destruction.” (Later reports state the teen was just cited.)
RPD later responded to a property destruction call on North Pointe Circle at 9:26 PM, which also advised of a window being shot out (this call did not indicate if the window was from a car or a residence).
“The 17-year-old Riverton boy who was cited in the earlier incidents was also cited for this along with a 15-year-old Riverton boy,” the call log narrative states.
In addition to those two calls, the RPD responded to a vandalism call at 8:08 AM on W Park Ave., in which a vehicle window had been shattered with a damage estimate of $300; a weapon offense call on W Sunset Drive at 9:16 PM, in which the reporting party advised that someone driving a white vehicle shot out the window of her car; and a property destruction call made at 9:36 PM on W Sunset Drive, also advising of vehicle window being shot out.
The RPD call log states that these other instances were “possibly/probably related to” the other calls that led to the citations for the boys.
