The Lander Tigers saved the best for last, peaking at the Class 3-A State Wrestling Tournament at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper over the weekend. Lander’s Ty McWilliams was crowned 3-A state champion at 106 pounds to lead the charge. Joining McWilliams in the finals was 144-pound Landon Jones who finished second.
Three other Tigers medaled. Henry Quiver and Cody West were fourth at 120 and 157-pounds respectively and Colin McWilliams was fifth at 126.
As a team the Tigers finished sixth with 107.5 points. Powell won the tournament with 227 points, and Pinedale was second at 200 points.
Riverton placed a single wrestler in the Class 4-A Division with Weston McLaughlin placing sixth at 165 pounds.
