The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and Bureau of Indian Affairs worked together in late October for an undercover operation that successfully resulted in the arrest of a man who had allegedly been selling methamphetamine.
35-year-old Robin “Robby” Noriega was ultimately arrested and charged with one count of delivery of methamphetamine, one count of endangering children, and one count of felony possession of a controlled substance.
On October 23rd, a man identified in court documents as a “confidential informant” began exchanging text messages with Noriega about purchasing methamphetamine. A short time later, the man arrived at Noriega’s house on East Washington Avenue, wearing a recording device.
The man purchased $260 worth of methamphetamine from Noriega. He also noted that there were two small children inside of the house during the purchase.
A field test confirmed the purchased substance was indeed methamphetamine. Agents returned a short time later to arrest Noriega.
On December 21st, Robin’s preliminary hearing was waived and his case was transferred to District Court for a later arraignment.
If convicted on all charges, Noriega faces up to 32 years of imprisonment and fines of up to $45,000.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
