Unofficial vote totals show incumbent Larry Allen defeated challenger Joel Highsmith in the Republican primary for Fremont County Commission District 2 this week.
Allen earned 1,242 votes to Highsmith’s 867, according to the unofficial results.
No Democrats ran in the District 2 primary.
Incumbent Jennifer McCarty ran unopposed in the Republican primary for Fremont County Commission District 5 and earned 1,142 votes.
No Democrats ran in the District 5 primary, either.
County 10 does not endorse any political candidate and strictly separates news from advertising.
The Primary Election will be certified at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, in the Commissioners’ Chambers at the Fremont County Courthouse. The public is invited to attend.
