Three wrestlers from Fremont County were crowned regional champions in the Class 2-A West Regional Tournament in Cowley at Rocky Mountain High School over the weekend.
Wind River’s Talon Walker pinned Garret White of Thermopolis in 1:20 to take the 106 title.
Shoshoni junior Brody Shepard won the 126-pound division, pinning Kemmerer’s Wyatt Miller in the championship match.
Wyoming Indian placed two wrestlers at 285 pound with Ben Niedo taking the regional title with a pin of Jace Barton from Kemmerer in 49 seconds. Teammate Roland Burton was third with a third-period pin of Alexander Walker from Rocky Mountain in 4:13.
Everyone in the top eight from regionals heads to Casper to begin the state championship tournament next Thursday.
