(Fremont County, WY) – Today will be mostly sunny and warm, high around 70 degrees. The added weather element today will be increasing southwest winds of 25 to 35, with a few gusts of 40 to 45 miles per hour as a well-developed low-pressure center tracks to Utah.
This low-pressure center will track across Wyoming tonight, and as it does, we’ll have increasing clouds this evening, followed by widespread rain showers developing after midnight tonight. The lows will be in the mid to upper 30s, and we could see a snowflake or two mixed in with the rain.
By Monday morning, that low-pressure center will begin to track east to the northern plains, and a cold front will swing through the area behind this low-pressure center. That will turn our winds to the north-northwest at speeds of 20 to 30 miles per hour, ushering in cooler air and moisture behind the front. So, expect mostly cloudy skies on Monday, with widespread rain showers all day, and the surrounding mountains, including the Owl Creek Mountains and the Winter River Mountains, which would include South Pass and Sinks Canyon, could see two to four inches of snow out of this weather system. The highs in the basin will be cooler highs in the low to mid-50s.
