Meterologist Reed Timmer captured a couple looks at a mescocyclone and a supercell over the Cheyenne-area last night.
A mesocyclone is a vortex of air in a storm, it forces air to rotate in a vertical axis. They are often associated with low pressure systems. Mesocyclones have been measured up to 10 miles in diameter.
Much of the Cheyenne-area, Burns, and Pine Bluffs also received very large hail. Up to golf-ball size was reported in some spots Tuesday night.
