The annual Pedigree Stage Stop Dog Sled Race is headed to Lander!
On Tuesday, teams will begin arriving in the area, and there’s an opportunity for folks to meet the dogs and mushers on Lander’s Main Street. Between 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in front of the Lander Bake Shop, some of the teams will be on hand for the family-friendly event.
On Wednesday after a brief rest period, teams will depart and get back into “race-mode.”
In recent years, the teams have begun the race stage on South Pass at the Louis Lake parking lot and initially, that was the scheduled race-start point again in 2019. However, the race start point has now changed to the Bruce’s Bridge area in Sinks Canyon.
Race fans may remember the Bruce’s Bridge area was once the starting point, but in recent years there has not been enough snow to begin the race from there.
The race is set to begin around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.
