Over the centuries, Americans have been inspired to create music in a huge spectrum of styles. Dubois residents will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear it in live performance at the Headwaters Center on Wednesday, June 24, at 7 PM.
Honoring Americas 250th birthday, and continuing its tradition of providing varieties in musical experience for the Dubois-area residents, the program is sponsored by Dubois Chamber Music in partnership with Trinkle Brass Works.
Performed by a salon orchestra of 9 musicians from Casper called Portable Masterpieces, which has toured vintage opera houses and theaters across the western United States, the program will be selected works by well-known names such as Irving Berlin and Woody
Guthrie as well as others from once-popular celebrities such as Bix Beiderbecke and Zez Confrey, along with some traditional patriotic favorites.
The concert in Dubois is one of the first stops in a tour of five communities in Wyoming, including Worland, Lander, Sheridan, and Casper. Called “Celebrate America!” it is part of the America250 project sponsored by the federal government to recognize and celebrate the
music, musicians, and composers of America.
Tickets for the June 24 concert ($15, with free admission for anyone under age 19) are available at the door, at the Bank of Jackson Hole, or online at duboischambermusic.org. The Dubois program is supported through the generosity of local patrons in the community, including the Opportunity Shop and Never Sweat Recreation Board grants programs, as well as by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts and grants from the Wyoming Arts Council and Sheridan Arts Council.

American heritage.”
Artistic Director Steven Trinkle has been principal trumpet at orchestras in the United States and abroad, including Casper, Augusta, Dubuque, Shreveport, and orchestras in Venezuela and Italy. His ensembles have performed in Brazil, Switzerland, Italy, and throughout the United States.
For more than 40 years, Trinkle Brass Works has traveled throughout the Americas and Europe, commissioning and performing music for brass and percussion ensembles, mixed instrumentation chamber ensembles and small theatre-orchestra. Recently, its salon orchestra of nine musicians, Portable Masterpieces, and an ensemble of brass, organ, and percussion called Feste Fantini have toured opera houses across the West. The organization’s support comes from private and corporate donations, foundations, and grants including Yamaha International USA, the Bach-Conn Corporation, the Harris Foundation, the NV Energy Foundation, the Union Pacific Foundation, the PacifiCorp Foundation, and state arts and humanities councils in Nevada, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Kansas, Pennsylvania and Wyoming. TBW is the recipient of six grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.
