(Fort Washakie, WY) – A candlelight vigil will be held for Stephanie Grace Bearstail tomorrow night, May 2, at the Fort Washakie High School football field.
The vigil will begin around 8 PM at sunset. Candles will be handed out to attendees.
There will be prayers, songs, and speeches, including an address from MMIW advocate Nicole Wagon.
Attendees are encouraged to bring signs, banners, and “anything to show our love to Ms. Stephanie,” and folks are also asked to wear red in support of MMIW and/or purple to acknowledge domestic violence.
“The vigil is not only a memorial activity, but (also) to bring awareness for the ongoing investigation that has since (had) very little details surrounding the events leading up to her death,” organizers shared.
“We, her family, want the answers; we want the justice she deserves.”
Bearstail’s family members/vigil organizers are also still encouraging anyone with information regarding the circumstances surrounding her death to reach out to the anonymous tip line at 307-335-7559.
