(Lander, WY) – The Lander Art Center, in proud partnership with the Red Desert Audubon Society, announces the 45th Annual Red Desert Audubon Art Show. This juried exhibition celebrates the wild beauty of Wyoming’s native plants and animals through the eyes of talented regional artists. The exhibition will be on display from July 31 through September 6, 2025.
The opening reception on Thursday, July 31, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, is free and open to the public. Attendees can enjoy refreshments provided by the Red Desert Audubon Society and beverages available for purchase from the Lander Art Center. Artists, community members, and nature lovers are invited to gather in celebration of local wildlife and creative expression.
The Red Desert Audubon Art Show highlights artwork that depicts native Wyoming flora and fauna. Eligible media include painting, drawing, sculpture, fiber art, ceramics, and other hand-crafted forms. Photography and digital works are not accepted for this exhibition. This year’s show features student entries and professional artists alike, with cash prizes awarded in multiple categories, including Best of Show and People’s Choice.
All entries are due by Wednesday, July 18, 2025. Artists may submit up to three pieces for a $30 fee. High school and younger students may enter for free. Submission guidelines and entry forms are available on the Lander Art Center website.
Exhibit hours are as follows:
- Tuesday: 3:00 to 8:00 PM
- Wednesday and Thursday: 2:00 to 7:00 PM
- Friday: 2:00 to 9:00 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The Red Desert Audubon Society’s mission is to promote the conservation of natural ecosystems, with a focus on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats. This exhibition advances that mission by fostering artistic reflection on the interconnected beauty of nature in our region.
The Lander Art Center is located at 258 Main Street and serves as a cultural hub in Fremont County. With rotating exhibitions, art education programs, community events, and an open clay studio, the center works to connect people of all ages to the power of the arts.
